He was loved and cherished by many people including: his wife Joyce; his children, Stephanie Frese (Tony) and Robert F. Cross Jr. Loving; his grandchildren, Jackson, Nick, Amelia, Evie and Robert III; and his siblings, Edward Cross (Rhonda), Grace Schoener (Herbert) and Dennis Cross (Helen). He was also cherished by nieces and nephews.
