He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, Clementina Tavares of Sousa and Antonio Nedio of Sousa Cirne; his spouse Maria of Fatima; his children, Clementina Cirne Vieira (Carlos), Céu Cirne-Neves (Adelino), José Pantaleão Cirne (Rosemary), Manuel Nédio Cirne (Conceição), Antonio Maria Cirne (Rose), Alvaro Domingos Cirne (Lisa) and Vitorino Carlos Cirne (Maria); his siblings, Manuel Nedio Valente of Sousa, Domingos Nedio of Sousa, Ana of Sousa, Maria and Céu Barbosa (Alvaro); his grandchildren, Michelle Cirne, Jason Cirne Vieira, Vanessa Green (Eddie), Christine Pollack (Scott), William Cirne Neves (Alexandra), Jamie Cirne, Cecilia Cirne, Lindsay Cirne, Luke Cirne, Casey Cirne, Julia Cirne and Michael Cirne; and his great grandchildren, Noah Green and Adriana Pollack.
