He was predeceased by: his son Douglas. He is survived by: his sister Jane Wischow; his wife Anne; and his children, Debbie Murray (Doug), Bruce and Paul (Beth). He is also survived by nine grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers, a charitable donation in his name, to Central United Methodist Church, 729 Arnold Avenue, Point Pleasant Beach, NJ 08742, is appreciated.
