She was predeceased by: her parents, Harry Hakim and Rose Hakim; and her brother-in-law Richard McGillis. She is survived by: her husband Chester Szymanski; her sister Arlene McGillis; her sons, Robert Szymanski (Patti O'Neil), Chet Szymanski (Erica Eichholz) and Bill Szymanski (Nancy); her grandchildren, Jesse Szymanski (Soleil), Luke Szymanski (Paige Desrosiers), Leah Szymanski Lucy (Sean), Deana Szymanski Gaeta (Robert) and Katie Szymanski; and her great grandchild Lando Marcel Neville Szymanski. She is also survived by cousins and friends.
