He is survived by: his significant other Evelyn Valderrama; his siblings, Juan Antonio of Puerto Rico, Jose Rafael of Puerto Rico, Marina of Puerto Rico, Haydee of Puerto Rico, Minerva of Puerto Rico and Carmen of Connecticut; his sons, Nelson Rivera Jr. (Iris Navarro), Andre Alberto Rivera (Marlena Rivera) and Luis Angel Lozada; his grandchildren, Bianca Rivera, Andre Alberto Rivera II, Luis Angel Lozada II, Justin Lee Rivera (Ruth Rivera) and Jeremias Rivera; and his great grandchildren, Josue Andre Adorno, Elianna Carter and Natalia Lee Rivera. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
