He was predeceased by: his wife Glenda Fitts; and his child Micki Leach. He is survived by: his siblings, Barbara Parrish, Bishop Clifford Leach (May), Selena Mae Stevenson and Virginia Walker; and his children, Victoria Smith, John Leach Jr, Karen Leach, John Dennis, Kay Hadley (David) and Cileste Parker (Robert). He is also survived by 14 grandchildren; 26 great grandchildren and a host of family and friends.
