He was predeceased by: his parents, Shirley Jamaal and Donald Handy Jamaal; and his sister Delores Smith Donald Handy. He is survived by: his children, James Dennis Jr. (Lakisha), Zaniyah Abdullah and Abdul Malik Abdullah; his grandchildren, Xy'leek, Semaj and Janylah; and his sisters, Norma Mosley of Philadelphia and Patrica Handy of Philadelphia. He is also survived by nieces, cousins, Aunts and Uncles.

A funeral service was held on Tuesday, November 26th 2024 at 1:00 PM at the Janazah Edwards and Son Funeral Home (208 E Commerce St, Bridgeton, NJ 08302). A burial was held on Tuesday, November 26th 2024 at the Fernwood Cemetery.
