He was predeceased by: his parents, Elizabeth Crain and Andrew Crain; his wife Judith; and his siblings, Vivian Starr, Frances Haines, Mary Gehret, Andrew Crain, Earl Crain, Robert Crain and Donald Crain.
He is survived by: his close friend Barbara Pratt; his children, John K. Crain, Jr. (Melissa), Kenneth Crain (Lauren) and Kathryn Crain; his brother Milton Crain (Geneva); and his grandchildren, Caitlyn, Sydney, Madelyn, Allison, Ryan, Ashlynn, Brantley and Maren. He is also survived by many loving nieces and nephews.
