It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of James J. Santangelo of Vernon, New Jersey, born in Passaic, New Jersey, who passed away on September 24, 2024, at the age of 90, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, Vincenzo Santangelo and Celeste Santangelo (DeLuca); his son Nicholas Santangelo; and his sister Juliet Wusthoff. He is survived by: his wife June W. Santangelo (Lutz); his children, Lisa Colyer (John) and Robert Santangelo; and his siblings, Silvio Santangelo (Carolyn), Joseph Santangelo and Jean DeBenedetto. He is also survived by eleven grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
Visitation was held on Saturday, September 28th 2024 from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the Vernon Funeral Home (241 NJ-94, Vernon Township, NJ 07462). A funeral service was held on Saturday, September 28th 2024 at 12:00 PM at the same location.
James had a very giving heart and would donate to any charity he came across. In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of James to the Vernon Ambulance Squad would be greatly appreciated (vernonems.com).
