He was predeceased by: his parents, John G. Schofield and Rita Schofield (Gerth); and his wife Barbara A. Schofield (Cavanaugh). He is survived by: his children, John "Jack" G. Schofield of Ventnor City, NJ and Dr. Kristin N. Schofield (Francis Sweeney) of Gardner, MA; his grandchildren, Nicholas, Spencer Sweeney, Genevieve, Sean and John "Jack" C. Schofield; and his sisters, Rita Stevenson of Custer and Tina Camuso of Norristown, PA. He is also survived by several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
