It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Maria Alcira Herrera (Union, New Jersey), born in Bogota, New Jersey, who passed away on February 13, 2025, at the age of 92, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
In the vast expanse of eternity, Maria shall find rest, cradled in the arms of everlasting peace. And as we bid Maria farewell, her loved ones carry with them the precious gift of her memory, a beacon of hope guiding them through the shadows of sorrow towards the light of a new dawn.
She was loved and cherished by many people including: her children, Nuvia H. Costine (Scott E. Costine) and Jacqueline Hererra (Kara Davis); and her grandchildren, Edward J. Costine II, Michael Nelson Ali and Alexandra Julia Ali.
Visitation will be held on Friday, February 21st 2025 from 7:00 PM to 9:00 PM at the Iglesia Cristiana Campamento (664 Newark Ave, Elizabeth, NJ 07208). A funeral service will be held on Saturday, February 22nd 2025 at 9:00 AM at the same location. A burial will be held on Saturday, February 22nd 2025 at 11:00 AM at the Hollywood Memorial Park (1500 Stuyvesant Ave., Union, NJ 07083).
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to: Shriners Children's OR St. Jude Children Research Hospital.
