She was predeceased by: her parents, Walter Kowalski and Katherine Kowalski (Vukovich); and her siblings, Judith Kosky and Walter Kowalski. She is survived by: her husband Bernard Smith; her children, BJ Smith (Stacy Horne) of Brick, Kellie Lloyd (Matthew) of Summit and Jennifer Alford (Stuart) of Summit; her brother Dennis Kowalski (Susan); and her grandchildren, Zachariah, Hannah, Sloane, Reed, Gibson, Sutton, Finn and Lochlan.

In lieu floral arrangements, the family asks that donations be made in Mary Ann's name to St. Jude's Children's Hospital.
