“Please accept my sincere condolences for your loss. I am sad to hear of Charlie’s passing. I had the privilege of playing football with Charlie for St. Francis de Sales football team in 1956. I was fairly new to the school and Charlie, who was a star of the team, made me feel very welcome. The opening play of many games was a fake run by Charlie during which he would throw a long pass to me which resulted in three touchdowns that season. His friendliness, leadership and athleticism are fond memories to this day. He was a good man. I am truly sorry for your loss. Mike Wallace West Catholic, ‘61”
