The Life of a Hero and King
Robert Roy Richardson was born August 27, 1942 at McKinley Hospital (Helen Fuld) in Trenton, NJ. He entered in rest at Capital Health Hospital in Pennington, NJ on Thursday, October 28, 2021.
Affectionately known as "Bobby", Robert was the second youngest of fourteen children born to Tullis Benjamin and Beatrice Richardson.
Bobby lived a very full and interesting life. During his early years he lived in Lawrenceville, NJ with his family where he attended elementary schools. He later moved to Trenton, NJ where he graduated from the Trenton School System. In 1974, he met and fell in love with Effie Palmer. The two wed and enjoyed 47 years together while raising their five children.
Bobby was a very hard-working man and a great provider for his family. He believed in working hard and had a very strong work ethic. He held many different positions such as a truck driver, laborer and foreman before working in construction at Local 369 where he retired.
Welcoming Robert in his homecoming are his parents, Tullis Benjamin and Beatrice Richardson, his daughter, Dorothina Hill, his grandson, Frelimo Hill, his brothers, Benjamin, Alfred, Donald, Thomas and Joseph Richardson, his sisters, Joan and Anna Louise Richardson and his beloved brother-in-law, Eugene Dorsey.
Bobby leaves to cherish his memory his beloved wife, Effie Richardson, Trenton, NJ, children, Tessaneka Hill (Dwane), Columbus, NJ, Renika Richardson (Ryan), New Brunswick, NJ, Rachael Richardson, step-son, Bryant Key (Janessa), Trenton, NJ, sisters, Josephine Richardson, Bristol, Pa, Ethel Richardson, Trenton, NJ, Dorothy Dorsey, Riverton, NJ, Madeline Gidson, Louisiana, Carol Fields (Dennis), Plainfield, NJ, brothers George Richardson (Rebecca), Irvington, NJ, Ronald Richardson (Henrietta), Trenton, NJ. Also to cherish his memory are 14 grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends.
Robert was a beloved son, husband, father, Pop-Pop, brother, uncle, cousin, relative and friend, whose legacy will continue on through the memories of all who knew and loved him. Daddy, you understood your assignment and executed it flawlessly! You are forever our Hero and King!
