He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, Dr. Nissim Shems and Allegra Shems; his wife Batia Sasson; his children, Nessy (Alicia Shems), Ed (Bree Bernat Shems) and Joyce (Lior Sharon); his grandchildren, Matthew, Leah, Eyal, Ben, Leo, Yarden and Cora; and his siblings, Dr. Albert Chams (Hugette) of Chicago, Esther and Rosette Tahan (Victor) of Brooklyn, NY. He was also cherished by nephews and nieces.
