He was predeceased by: his sister Shirley Askew; his nephew Jerrell Grimsley; and his close friend Prince Ann Brown. He is survived by: his children, Elvira "Cookie" Pritchett, Lisa Fortson and Kenneth B. Askew Jr.; his daughter-in-law Katri Askew; his daughters, Rasheita Brown and Latoya Brown; and his siblings, Charles Jr. "Chief" Askew, Lawrence "Larry" Askew, James "Homie" Askew, Beverly Phillips and Rhonda Askew-Grimsley.

Viewing was held on Thursday, September 26th 2024 from 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the Church Viewing Sep. A funeral service was held on Thursday, September 26th 2024 from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM at the Union Baptist Church (301 Pennington Ave, Trenton, NJ 08618).
