He was predeceased by: his parents, White Sox and Harriet Burns (Peet); his brothers, Joseph and William Burns; and his son-in-law Daniel A. Pagnotta III.
He is survived by: his wife LaVerne M. Burns (Dombrowski); his children, Dennis Patrick Burns Jr. (Tracey), Shaune Kathleen Pero, Casey John Burns (Tara Lee), Mollie Pagnotta and Keely Burns; his stepchildren, Shannon Nelson, T. C. Nelson (Leanna) and Kevin Nelson (Janice); his grandchildren, Dylan Patrick Murphy Havens, Brogan Dennis Pero, Keaton Shae, Deni Renee, Rylee Dru Burns, Ava Lee, Caden Patrick, Jaxson Anthony Burns, Colbie Shea, Landon Avery Pagnotta, Ruby Carlin Schuster, Peyton Nichole Nelson and Cash John Carlin Nelson; and his siblings-in-law, Bernice Luse, Charlotte Moreno (Jesse) and Bill Dombrowski (Cheryl). He is also survived by several nieces, a nephew.
