She was predeceased by: her husband Thomas Jefferson Brooks, Sr.; her son Michael Anthony Billups; her parents, Louise and Ernest Billups, Sr.; and her siblings, Ernest Billups and Janie White.
She is survived by: her children, Daquan Duncan, Thomas Jefferson Brooks, Jr., Arlene Hightower, Darlene Billups and Lorraine D. Gandy; her brother Lewis Billups; and her children-in-law, Thurston Gandy, Sidney Hightower and Maxine Brooks. She is also survived by nieces, nephews, grandchildren and great grandchildren.
