He was loved and cherished by many people including: his wife Barbara Zlotnick-Sanders; his children, Robert Jr. (Katie) of Pompton Lakes, NJ, Kevin (Terri) of Allentown, PA and Dr. Stacy Sanders-Burke (Richard Burke) of Norwood, Mass.; his grandchildren, Emily Schwartz (Harry), Richard Sanders (Ursa Remondi), Robert J. Sanders III, Steven Sanders and Ainsley Burke; his great grandchildren, Cooper Schwartz and Margaret Schwartz; and his parents, Frank Sanders, Jr. and Lillian Sanders (Roeder).

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations to the Wounded Warriors.
