She was loved and cherished by many people including: her parents, Anna and Jacob Stern; her husband Albert Usher Schleifer; her children, Douglas Schleifer (Maureen Smyth) and Heidi Schleifer (Edward Fleischman); her granddaughters, Alison Gabrielle Fleischman and Anna Elise Fleischman; and her sister-in-law Pauline Mayer. She was also cherished by numerous nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers, donations in Renée's memory may be made to Planned Parenthood of Northern, Central and Southern New Jersey.
