He is survived by: his wife Elizabeth Hempen (Doty); his son Vaughn Hempen; his mother Klara Hempen of Toms River; his mother-in-law Virginia Doty of Toms River; his sister-in-law Melissa Doty of Toms River; and his aunt Carol Scherm of Toms River.
