It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Gladys E. Clayton of Toms River, New Jersey, born in Irvington, New Jersey, who passed away on April 16, 2024, at the age of 94, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her husband Edmund R. Clayton, Sr.; her parents, William Schafer and Anna Schafer; her siblings, Frank Schafer, William Schafer, Dolores Baxter and Lorraine Berteska; and her grandson Shawn Patrick Clayton.

She is survived by: her children, Edmund R. Clayton, Jr., Harry Clayton, Terry Lee Clayton (Barbara), Pamela Ann Donahue and Brian Clayton (Barbara); and her siblings, Joseph Schafer, Helen Clayton and Eleanor Phelps. She is also survived by her 10 grandchildren, her 7 great grandchildren.
