She was loved and cherished by many people including: her father Armenian Democratic Liberal Party; her siblings, Sylva Der Stepanian and Almijan Manouk Der Stepanian of Switzerland; and her cousins, Hovsep Chalian of Nevada and Shoghig Chalian-Tarpinian (Vaghenag Tarpinian). She was also cherished by the children, grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Since 1986, she was an active member of the board at the National Ethnic Coalition of Organizations (NECO), who annually presented the Ellis Island Medal of Honor to extraordinary Armenian-Americans for their contributions to Armenia and their adopted homeland.
