She was predeceased by: her parents, Dan Veru and Hope Veru; her husband Peter Chahales; her son-in-law Thomas Pappas; and her brother Ted.
She is survived by: her children, Zacharine Pappas and Nicholas Chahales (Pauline); her grandchildren, Nicholas, Peter, Thomas Pappas and Themi Chahales; and her sister Mary Mantzaris. She is also survived by her family and friends.
During her years on Long Island, she was deeply involved in volunteer work with the Hoffman Foundation until 2014.
