He was predeceased by: his parents, Henry Rome and Serena Rome (Post); his wife Lillian Rome (Cortright); his siblings, Ralph, Roy, Ronald, Carolyn Williams and Marilyn Kilmer; and his half-siblings, Hobart, Clarence, Henry, Lester, Grant, John Rome, Charles, Clyde, Calvin Card, Amanda Rome, Lucretia Willis, Eliza Rush, Edith McConnell, Blanche Hey, Olive Arnott, Gladys Houghtaling, Goldie Mathews Hockenberry, Ella Tartar and Abby VanderVelde.
He is survived by: his children, Cheryl Raperto (James), Virgil Jr. (Cindy) and David (Julie); his granddaughters, Amanda Mack (Robert), Ashley Delea-Clark (Brian) and Meredith Rome; and his great grandchildren, Kassidy House, Carlynn Cronen, Colin Cronen, Rylee Murdter, Allison Frato, Jordyn Mack and Hayden Mack.
