He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, Gilbert K. Coates and Helen J. Coates of Sussex, NJ; his brother Gary Coates (Yvonne); his nephew Lawson Coates of West Caldwell; his great-nephews, Hunter and Cristian; his niece Julie; his great-niece Gracie; and his pet D. C..
In lieu of flowers the family requests all memorial donations be made to the American Legion Auberger Post 213, Route 23 North Sussex NJ.
