He was predeceased by: his parents, John Piech and Mary Taptich. He is survived by: his wife Catherine Mary Tak; his sons, Dr Gregory M Piech (Tanuka Datta Piech) of Philadelphia, Captain Jonathan B Piech (Lorena Quintero) of Las Vegas and Zachary J Piech (Abigail) of Chicago; his grandchild Ryan Datta Piech; his brother David P Piech (Renee Spring); his siblings-in-law, Peter F Tak and Pat Tak Brown (Charles); his nieces and nephews, Maureen, Hilary, Colleen, Nicole, Samantha, Derek and Josef; and his cousins, Joe, Mary Louise and Lisa.
The family requests that anyone wishing to make a donation to honor John's memory do so at Catholic Charities, the American Red Cross, or Penn State Athletic Association.
