Eileen Patricia Musum Obituary
Eileen Patricia Musum of Summit, NJ passed away peacefully on Wednesday, January 17, 2024 at the age of 85.
Eileen was born on October 22, 1938 in West Orange, NJ. She was the daughter of John Byrne. Eileen was a resident of Summit for over 50 years. She married her beloved husband, Philip, in 1958 and remained married for 46 years until his passing in 2005. Together they raised their four children in Summit. Eileen was devoted to her loving family and cherished spending time with her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.
For many years, Eileen loved hosting friends and family at her home for Christmas Eve – even arranging guest appearances from Santa Claus himself. Always the most sociable, seldom was there a time when you would see Eileen without a phone to her ear. There were few things she loved in this world more than a telephone conversation with a friend or family member – so much so, that her husband had to set up a second phone line to accommodate her calls.
Eileen is survived by her loving children, Vincent Musum and his wife Kathryn of Summit, Matthew Musum and his wife Kelly of Johns Island, SC, Gaye Giorgi of New Smyrna Beach, FL, and Diane Lioudis and her husband George of Summit. She was the cherished grandmother of Jaclyn, Kaileen and Karley, Benjamin, Brian and Brendan, Nick and Zoe, and Nick and Stephanie. Eileen is also survived by her adored great-grandchildren, Piper, Parker and Jordan and Penelope.
A private graveside service will be held at St. Teresa’s Cemetery, Summit, NJ. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Paul Ippolito Summit Memorial.
