It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of Thomas H Hjembo (Succasunna, New Jersey), born in Staten Island, New York, who passed away on October 9, 2021, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, Flanders and NJ; his wife Judith "Judy" Hjembo (Salvesen); his children, Beth Laurel Droney (David) of Little Falls and Matthew Eric Hjembo (Kyleen) of Denton, TX.; his grandsons, Samuel Droney and Nathan Droney; his brothers, Ralph Hjembo (Gloria) and David Hjembo (Wendy); and his mother-in-law Bertha Salvesen.

Tom will be laid to rest at Restland Memorial Park Cemetery in East Hanover, NJ.In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to The Mission Church Memorial Fund via check or tithe.ly.

“It is easy to miss Pastor Tom Hjembo. He had such talent, energy, and a great heart for all those around him--his dear family and his congregation. Tom certainly impacted every member of my Takooshian family in many ways--particularly his gracious heart to seek out and pray with my late wife Silva 48 hours before her death on 12/19/1993. Likely everyone who knew Tom would agree that the Lord could hardly have a more fierce and devoted champion than Pastor Tom Hjembo.”
