He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, Reidar and Flora (Midthassel); his wife Janet Gahre of Staten Island, NY; his sisters, Julie Nelson (Nelson) and Ingrid Hansen (Hans); his children, Kristina Barkey (Greg), Anne-Marie Massey (Andy), Karen Verbeke (Kevin), Erik Ambjor (Rachel) and Jonathan Ambjor (Rebekah); his grandchildren, Brent (Andra), Marissa (Hayden), Jenna (Jordan), Katelyn (Jacob), Hannah, Emily, Trey, Noah, Lindsay, Elise, Oskar and Danny; and his great grandchildren, Ellis Erik, Oslo, Bjørn, Anneke and Beau.
