He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, Charles Gansler and Martha Gansler; his wife Doris Gansler (German); his daughters, Melanie Demarest and Jodi Meissner; his son-in-law Jeffrey Meissner of Hillsborough, NJ; his son Andrew Gansler; his children-in-law, Christine Mancini of Hoboken, NJ and Scott Demarest of The Villages, FL; his grandchildren, Nicole, Devon Meissner, Luca Gansler, Steven and Sarah Demarest; his sister Judy Lieb; and his siblings-in-law, Sanford Lieb of Boynton Beach, FL and Ann German of Bal Harbour, FL..

He was also a volunteer at Overlook Medical Center for more than 22 years, and continued to volunteer his time there until volunteer service was limited due to Covid-19 concerns.

In lieu of flowers or gifts, the family asks that any offering be made to the Humane Society of the US or the Somerset Regional Animal Shelter.
