He was predeceased by: his grandfathers, Henry McTernan and Joseph Desher. He is survived by: his parents, Sean McTernan and Sarah McTernan; his siblings, Caitlynn, Cole and Collin; his partner's son Alex; and his grandparents, Geoff, Sue Walker and Sue Desher. He is also survived by many aunts, uncles, and cousins.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Best Buddies New Jersey, which provides one-on-one friendships for individuals with disabilities.
