He was predeceased by: his parents, Thomas Lavin and Jane Lavin; his wife Katherine Mary; his sister Priscilla Heatherton; and his nephew Robert Heatherton.
He is survived by: his sons, Thomas J. (Jamie Lavin) and Martin J. (Nancy P. Lavin); his grandchildren, Timothy Putnam Lavin, Thomas Joseph Lavin and Matthew Putnam Lavin; his siblings, James Lavin and Barbara Tomany; and his nieces and nephews, Jeannie, Jimmy, Thomas Lavin, Karen, Jennifer, Matthew Heatherton and Patrick Tomany.
Due to the Covid-19 executive orders of Gov. Murphy, attendance is limited and based on capacity limitations; attendees are required to wear masks and practice social distancing.
In lieu of flowers, donations in Mr. Lavin's memory may be made to Cardinal Hayes High School, 650 Grand Concourse, Bronx NY 10451.
