He was predeceased by: his parents, Howard Burgess and Ruth Burgess; his wife Ella Burgess; and his son Richard L. Burgess, Jr.. He is survived by: his children, Donna Chandler of Somerset, John Burgess, Melissa Burgess and Andrew Bateau of Spotswood; his sister Judy Buck; his grandchildren, Shannon, Kimberly, Amanda, Ryan and Justin; and his great grandchild Lilliana.
