He was predeceased by: his parents, John Ihnat and Susana Ihnat; his wife Mary; his siblings, Lawrence, John, Michael, Steve, Anna Kroffe and Mary Swist; and his son-in-law Donald Lewis Sr..

He is survived by: his daughter Sandra J. Lewis of Spotswood; his grandsons, Donald Lewis Jr. and Jeffrey Lewis; and his great grandchildren, Joseph and Olivia Lewis.
