He was predeceased by: his parents, Merritt Mahony and Katharine Reagan Mahony; and his daughter-in-law Tammy Donahue. He is survived by: his wife Jean Mahony; his children, Brennan Mahony, Maryrose Mahony and Theresa Mahony; his stepdaughters, Alison Del Duca (Sean) and Colleen Abruzese (Brent); his siblings, Peter Mahony, Denis Mahony, Katie Daly and Judy Walls; and his grandchildren, Ella Del Duca, Lily Abruzese, Michael Del Duca and Theo Abruzese.
