She was predeceased by: her parents, Irish and Mary (Holland); her husband Thomas A. Desmond; her siblings, Margaret "Peg" Hynes (Kenneth), Patricia "Pat" McMillan (Bill) and James "Jim" Mahony; and her sisters-in-law, Jeanne Butler and Kathryn Ryan.
She is survived by: her friends, Bill and Kathy McLeod; her son Daniel of Charlotte, NC.; her son-in-law Col. Matthew Morton; her daughters, Mary Mongiello (Bartolomeo) of Pompton Plains, NJ, Holly van Voorst (Robert) of Sparta, NJ and Julie Morton (Matthew) of Carlisle, PA; her grandchildren, Kathryn (Michelle), Bridget van Voorst, John (Kayse), Gillian, Ainsley Morton, Mary Mongiello, Fionnuala and Ronan Desmond; and her brothers-in-law, Ken Hynes and Ken Butler. She is also survived by nieces and nephews.
