She was predeceased by: her husband Manuel J Reis; her parents, Gonçalo Garete and Nazaré Garete; her sister Rose Lopes; and her granddaughter Aurora Danielle Mattie.

She is survived by: her children, Maria-Elena Kitchell, Michelle Reis Kretschmer and Aurora Mattie (Daniel); her grandchildren, Kyle Reis Kretschmer (Callie), Ryan Reis Kitchell (Erin), Collin Reis Kitchell (Meredith), Shawn Garret Kretschmer, Kayla Kretschmer Cecere (Joseph), Denton Watson Reis Kitchell (Vanessa) and Corie Aurora Mattie; and her great grandchildren, Jackson Reis Kretschmer, Currin Reagan Kitchell, Rhett William Kretschmer and Lyla Kay Cecere. She is also survived by three daughters.
