George M. Giakas Obituary
With heavy hearts, we announce the death of George M. Giakas of South Plainfield, New Jersey, born in Brooklyn, New York, who passed away on October 11, 2024. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Michael and Gertrude; and his siblings, Walter, Lavinia, Mildred (Cirafesi), John, Anna (Chillemi) and William.
He is survived by: his wife Eileen (Raya); his children, Wally (Susan), Brett (Beth), Michele (Tom) and Dawn (Glenn); his grandchildren, Casey, Wally, Justin, Alex, Nick, Chris, Kristin, Jessica, Paul, Vincent and Sarah; and his great grandchildren, Wally and Aria. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews, as well as additional family members and friends.
As a generous person, George felt very strongly about donating to ALS Association, Shriners and St. Jude Children's Hospitals, therefore, the family is requesting in lieu of flowers, memorial donation be made to one of the three organizations in his memory. https://www.als.org https://donate.lovetotherescue.org https://www.stjude.org.
