It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Frank J. Mazzarella M. D. of South Orange, New Jersey, born in Newark, New Jersey, who passed away on September 7, 2023, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his wife Carla Mazzarella; and his parents, Jerry Mazzarella and Rozlyn Mazzarella. He is survived by: his stepchildren, Steph Mazzarella and Jerry Mazzarella; his children, Claudia and Meredith; his sister Francine Galante (Victor); his nephew Victor (Krystal); his great-nephew Victor III; his nieces, Dina Meklinsky (Jason), Cara (Andrew Villa) and Diane Orangeo (Robert); his great-niece Tara (Leonardo Di Stasio); his great-nephew Robert; his nieces and nephews, Addonizio, DeSacia and Appollina; and also Amanda. He is also survived by cousins and countless friends.
During the COVID-19 pandemic he oversaw patient transfers across the state and with the USS Comfort to allow for additional patient admissions at Clara Maass.
