He was predeceased by: his parents, Mary Egan and Michael Egan. He is survived by: his wife Arlene Santos Egan; his daughters, Lisa Egan of South Amboy and Debra Egan-Huben (Bill Huben) of Hudsonville, Michigan.; his grandchildren, Joseph F. Waresk and Gabrielle Lynn-Huben; and his siblings, Michael Egan and Patricia Egan-Parsons. He is also survived by his grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.
In lieu of flowers donations can be made in John's name to fight4autism, a New Jersey organization that helped John's grandson and many others.
