He was predeceased by: his father Joseph Carney; his wife Carolyn; and his brothers, William and Joseph Carney. He is survived by: his children, Jeffrey E. Carney (Elizabeth) of Woodbridge and Cathleen O'Malley (Christopher) of Ocean; his siblings, Patrick Carney of South Amboy, Ann Marie Pokropinski of Monroe and Margaret McQuade of South Amboy; and his grandchildren, Caroline and Nolan. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
