He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, Joseph James Wildgen Sr. and Ann Hay Pinckney Wildgen; his son Christopher Charles Wildgen Jr.; his uncles, Paul Rudolf Wildgen and John "Jack" Christopher Wildgen; his brother Paul Porcher Wildgen; his wife Donna M. Wildgen; his daughters, Amanda Ann Keller (Thomas Keller, III) and Lauren Lindsay Wildgen; his grandchildren, Genevieve Porcher, Isabella Grace and Thomas Nelson Keller IV; his brother Joseph James Wildgen Jr. "Jimmy" (Joanne); his nieces, Heather Pappas (Mark) and Melissa Wildgen Anton; his nephew Kyle Joseph Wildgen (Jamie); and his cousins, Rebels and Yankees. He was also cherished by six great nieces and nephew.
