He is survived by: his children, Stephen Vajtay Jr. (Gabriella), Thomas Vajtay (Piroska), Katherine Zaha (Gabriel), Gabrielle Fari (Gabor), Peter Vajtay (Sarah) and Andrea Vajtay; his grandchildren, Stephen Vajtay III (Ashley), Andrew Vajtay (Katie), Gregory Vajtay, Daniel Vajtay, Thomas Vajtay, Christopher Vajtay, Joseph Vajtay, Adam Zaha, Deanna Zaha, Victoria Fari (Daniel Fonseca), Kristina Fari, Nicholas Fari, Olivia and Jack Greer; his great grandchild Stephen Vajtay IV; and his wife Helga Murray.

Visitation was held on Friday, December 20th 2024 from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Gleason Funeral Home (1360 Hamilton St, Somerset, NJ 08873). A funeral Mass was held on Saturday, December 21st 2024 at 10:00 AM at the St. Ladislaus R. C. Church (213 Somerset St, New Brunswick, NJ 08901). A funeral service was held on Saturday, December 21st 2024 from 11:00 AM to 11:30 AM at the Saint Peter's Cemetery (500 Somerset St, New Brunswick, NJ 08901).

Nicky Vajtay lit a candle

“Hello beautiful family! I am so sorry to hear that Apu (Pista ba ) has passed. I have so many wonderful memories as we all grew together on skis, and on islands, and in tents in two languages. Pista ba was like a second father to me, I always felt loved and cherished as if one of his own. I am sending you all so much love and hugs from across the miles. I hope we can all see each other someday before too much time slips away. Much love always!”
