He was predeceased by: his parents, Joe Hemingway and Lilly Hemingway (Lula Mae "Sweet"); his son Kenneth Bruce Hemingway; and his siblings, Florence Gail Graves, Nettie Bell Dozier, Buster, Joe Lee Hemingway and Mollie Preslie.
He is survived by: his children, Vincent Allen Hemingway, Valerie Highsmith and Pittman Greg Hemingway; and his sister Pollie Harrington. He is also survived by 10 grandchildren, 20 great grandchildren.
