Maxine (Greenberg) Prescott Obituary
Maxine Greenberg Prescott, who made her home in New York City, passed away at Stein Assisted Living in Somerset, New Jersey. A resident of the Jaffa Gate memory care unit since June 2018, she died as a result of Lewy Body Dementia. She came to New York City in September 1983 to follow her life-long dream of being an actor. Starting as a student at Stella Adler and One-on-One, she had large and small roles in regional theater, off-off Broadway, television, movies, and independent films. She was a beloved part of acting coach Bob Krakower’s master class; her classmates were as family to her.
Always hoping to be an actor someday, she nonetheless attended the University of Maryland until she was old enough to be admitted to the nursing program at Mount Sinai Hospital in New York. An RN, she later finished her undergraduate work at Rutgers University College and received a Masters degree in Social Work from Rutgers School of Social Work.
Her memory will be cherished by her daughter Jan Prescott Weber (Robert) of Stockton, NJ, her son Joe Prescott of Mount Horeb, WI and granddaughters Elizabeth Weber Allsop (Carl) of Ocala, FL and Caroline Weber Kinn (Stephen) of Seattle, WA.
