He was predeceased by: his wife Sandra; and his brother Bert. He is survived by: his children, Brian Cige (Laurence Cige) and Hillary Cige Post (Justin); his grandchildren, Joshua, Mara, Adam, William, David, Sarah, Alex and Andrew; his great grandchild Hailey; and his sisters, Ethel Bornstein, Janine Sabinsky and Jacqueline Prezant.
With the guidance of his parents, his brother Bert and he were rescued by a local charity and eventually made it onto a Kindertransport boat in Portugal bringing them to the United States through Ellis Island.
