He was predeceased by: his parents, Edward Apt and Dorothy Apt. He is survived by: his sister Linda Mierzwinski (Hank); his nephews, Matt Mierzwinski (Alissa) and Dan Mierzwinski (Kelly); and his friends, Rick Ackerman, Bill Monsour and Joe Amodei (Bev Gaughan).
