She was loved and cherished by many people including: her husband Ronald R. Fernald; her children, Eileen Shur (Brenden) and Jean Kegel (Michael); her sister Anna McCurrey; and her grandchildren, Delaney, Ryan and Brenna.

Due to the restrictions imposed by COVID-19 services and interment for Veronica will take place privately at Gate of Heaven Cemetery Berlin, NJ.
