It is with great sadness that we announce the death of John J. Merris II of Shrewsbury, New Jersey, born in Orange, New Jersey, who passed away on February 2, 2021, at the age of 85, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his wife JoAnn; his parents, Mary Merris and John Merris; his stepfather Norman Holden; and his siblings, Corrine Digiore (Jean) of Wayne, NJ and William.
He is survived by: his children, John Merris (Laura) of Shrewsbury, NJ, William Merris of Hickory, NC and Wendy Doheny (David) of Loudon, TN; his grandchildren, Rebecca Miller (Gregory) of Branchburg, NJ, Meagan Hoffman (Benjamin) of Kutztown, PA, John Paul Merris (Rebecca) of Shrewsbury, NJ and Ryan Doheny of St. Petersburg, FL; his great grandchild Abigail Merris of Shrewsbury, NJ; his sister Muriel Coffey of Durham, NC; and his sister-in-law Carlene Merris of Dallas, TX..
A funeral mass will be offered at St. James Catholic Church in Red Bank on Friday, February 12th at 11 a. m. Those wishing to attend must follow NJ covid protocols.
